Black & White photography has been a gateway for Kamau’s creative life. After studying photography in high school at the world renowned Manchester Craftsman Guild, he continued and expanded his studies at Pittsburgh Filmmakers, taking courses in graphic design, filmmaking, and advance courses in black & white photography. What continues to draw Kamau to this medium is its ability to narrate human experience. Environmental portraits have been of particular interest to Kamau because one image can tell the story of a person, a place, and a moment.
